INDIA HEALTH INITIATIVE: Doctors and health professionals traveling to serve the poor in India.
We launched this program in 2010. It brings together a team of medical staff to travel to rural areas of India, such as Bara Banki, UP, and Coastal Andhra to provide desperately needed health care; to provide basic education in health care with an emphasis on preventive health care; and to provide technical training to the local doctors and medical personnel.
The length of the medical trip is approximately 3 weeks including travel time. Where possible, we plan to collaborate with local non-profit organizations, physicians, medical staffs, clinics and hospitals. Please click here to contact us and we will keep you abreast of our future trips.
SUMMER VOLUNTEERS – Travel India Program.
The summer volunteer program’s mission is to understand and improve the conditions of citizens in developing countries and to instill a sense of social responsibility and activism among young adults in North America. In 1999, IMRC started this program to help students gain an understanding of the needs of the poor and needy people in India. Mashallah, the participation for this program has tripled since its inception. Every summer approximately 10 volunteers from the U.S. travel across multiple cities in India; and work with other non-profit organizations on topics such as children’s poverty and education, women’s empowerment, communal riots and much more.
