Part-Time Events Coordinator – Mountain View, CA

About IMRC
Indian Muslim Relief & Charities (IMRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1981 and based at 849 Independence Ave, Suite A, Mountain View, CA 94043. We work year-round with volunteers across the U.S. and 100+ partner organizations in India to provide emergency relief, educational assistance, and critical healthcare for India’s Muslims and minorities.

Role overview
IMRC seeks a highly motivated, organized Part-Time Events Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising and community-engagement events throughout the year. The ideal candidate can multitask, meet deadlines, and collaborate smoothly with donors, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Key responsibilities

Event planning & execution

  • Build event plans with timelines, budgets, and logistics for fundraisers (banquets, iftar dinners), donor appreciation events (incl. musical/qawwali), speaker workshops, and community outreach.

  • Coordinate IMRC booths at major conferences (e.g., ISNA, ICNA); handle registration, shipping, and on-site needs.

  • Secure and manage venues, catering, speakers, AV/tech, and other vendors.

  • Track budgets, expenses, ticket sales, and post-event reporting.

  • Support set-up/break-down and on-site logistics for SF Bay Area events.

  • Travel for major conferences and other events as needed.

Volunteer management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise event volunteers.

Marketing & communications

  • Help develop flyers, invitations, newsletter blurbs, and social posts for events.

  • Manage event registration/ticketing systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in events, marketing, or communications preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent organization, time management, and written/verbal communication.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder and vendor relations.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canva (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with social media marketing and online event platforms.

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented “can-do” attitude; passion for IMRC’s mission.

Compensation
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Location & type
Mountain View, CA • Part-time (with local Bay Area on-site event coverage; some travel for conferences).

Immediate Opening – Internship – Mountain View, CA

IMRC is seeking a candidate with extraordinary judgment, and passion for humanitarian work to join our team as a Summer Intern. Candidates will have a deep desire to serve the most vulnerable in India. 

 

The Intern provides organizational improvement in areas of administrative functions in the HQ location along with a dedicated team of office staff, interns and volunteers. This position reports directly to Operations Manager. 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in day to day operations & support projects 
  • Help with event organization and set up 
  • Perform administrative tasks such as, office organization, data entry, email, filing 

Qualifications 

  • Be currently enrolled in High School or College 
  • Interest in non profit, humanitarian work 
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, self motivated 
  • Good time management and communication skills 
  • Basic computer literacy (Google Docs, spreadsheets, social media platforms)
