Bihar & Bengal Floods
Over 2 million affected
Bihar, which borders the Himalayan nation of Nepal, is India’s most flood-prone state. More than 70 percent of its total geographical area is at risk of annual floods, which put lives at risk and lead to heavy financial losses. Nearly two million people have been affected by the recent floods in Bihar & Bengal, including thousands who have been forced to evacuate from their homes.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday has sought the Army and the Indian Air Force’s help in relief and rescue of affected people. He also requested Prime Minister Narender Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to provide all possible aid. “Both have assured their assistance,” Nitish Kumar said.
IMRC is asking for your help to provide relief for these flood victims.
Your support can help them with an emergency kit containing a blanket, first aid items and food.
